About The Composer
Matt is a Minnesota (U.S.) native who grew up in the bands of Apple Valley public schools and continued his growth at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) and St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN). He studied composition under his dear friend and mentor, Timothy Mahr. Composing music has been his default reaction to powerful moments in his life since he was in high school.
Matt is currently a band director at Roseville Area High School in Roseville, Minnesota. He married his high school sweetheart, who he of course met in band, and they have two amazing daughters.
